How these stories are connected: Max leaves the comfort of his room to discover a wide world covered with oceans and filled with wild creatures. The blessings of home call to him and he travels back to warmth, security, and his mother's cooking. Max's travels can remind us of Abram's. Abram responds to God's call to go to a wild, unknown place, knowing nothing except that God's blessing goes with him.

Prayer
Dear God, thank you for wanting to bless us and make our lives great. Please bring a blessing into places we need it most. Amen.
Hands On
God loves us just the way we are. We don’t have to change a thing. Ask the children how that makes them feel. Pray a simple prayer together, thanking God for making and loving us the way we are. Thank God for making a place for us in the world.
