1 Kings 17:1-6 Elijah tells King Ahab the bad news
Elijah Part 1

As we enter into worship, lift in prayer all who work for the common good. The network of our social & public life is complex and people who provide structure for our civic life are in special need of prayer and support as the policies of their workplaces shift, change and reform. Pray for justice to be done, and for the people who work for the common good to be uplifted in their service. Remember that they are our friends and neighbours!

Be Not Afraid

Be not afraid.
I go before you always.
Come, follow me, and I will give you rest.

You shall cross the barren desert,
but you shall not die of thirst.
You shall wander far in safety
though you do not know the way.
You shall speak your words in foreign lands
and all will understand.
You shall see the face of God and live.

Be not afraid.
I go before you always.
Come, follow me, and I will give you rest.

If you pass through raging waters in the sea,
you shall not drown.
If you walk amid the burning flames,
you shall not be harmed.
If you stand before the pow'r of hell
and death is at your side,
know that I am with you through it all.

Be not afraid.
I go before you always.
Come, follow me, and I will give you rest.

Blessed are your poor,
for the kingdom shall be theirs.
Blest are you that weep and mourn,
for one day you shall laugh.
And if wicked tongues insult and hate you
all because of me,
blessed, blessed are you!

Be not afraid.
I go before you always.
Come, follow me, and I will give you rest.

Isaiah 49

I will never forget you, My people
I have carved you on the palm of My hand
I will never forget you
I will not leave you orphaned
I will never forget My own

Does a mother forget her baby?
Or a woman the child within her womb?
Yet even if these forget,
Yes, even if these forget,
I will never forget my own

I will never forget you, My people
I have carved you on the palm of My hand
I will never forget you
I will not leave you orphaned
I will never forget My own

My Soul Is Thirsting for You

Refrain
My soul is thirsting for you, O Lord,
thirsting for you, my God.
My soul is thirsting for you, O Lord,
thirsting for you, my God,
thirsting for you, my God.

O God, you are my God,
and I will always praise you.
In the shadow of your wings
I cling to you and you hold me high.

My soul is thirsting for you, O Lord,
thirsting for you, my God.
My soul is thirsting for you, O Lord,
thirsting for you, my God,
thirsting for you, my God.

Through the day you walk with me;
all the night your love surrounds me.
To the glory of your name
I lift my hands, I sing your praise.

My soul is thirsting for you, O Lord,
thirsting for you, my God.
My soul is thirsting for you, O Lord,
thirsting for you, my God,
thirsting for you, my God.

I will never be afraid,
for I will not be abandoned.
Even when the road grows long and weary
your love will rescue me.

My soul is thirsting for you, O Lord,
thirsting for you, my God.
My soul is thirsting for you, O Lord,
thirsting for you, my God,
thirsting for you, my God.
